Content:
The aim of the project is to research the educational strategies that help to eliminate inequality and enhance social cohesion and to identify those strategies which generate social exclusion. In the project we will pay special attention to vulnerable and marginalised groups. We will make the results of the project available to policy makers in the field of education in Europe, educators, teachers, students and their families and thus the project will contribute to the formation of new policies in order to reach the Lisbon goals.
Description:

In the scope of the project we will:

  • Research the characteristics of educational systems and reforms in order to recognize those systems that generate low levels of educational and social exclusion and those systems that generate high levels;
  • Analyse the components of educational practices that reduce drop-out and those that increase it;
  • Research how educational exclusion influences various areas of society (e.g. employment, housing, health, political participation) and which forms help to overcome it;
  • Analyse how social and educational exclusion intersects in vulnerable groups (e.g. women, youth, migrants, cultural groups and persons with disabilities) and the role of education. We will also research which forms help to overcome their discrimination;
  • Research which educational policies and those from other fields eliminate social exclusion and build an inclusive European society;
  • Research those European projects with integrative social and educational approaches, which reduce inequality and marginalisation and enhance social inclusion.
